English Summary/英文概要: The fictional superspy James Bond is a cultural phenomenon, becoming since his first appearance in the novel Casino Royale in 1953 a character as recognizable around the world as Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood. While we may associate James Bond with exotic locales, underwater adventures, and even outer space, there are many sites in Britain connected with the character. Locations used in the Bond films, places mentioned in the novels, buildings inhabited or visited by Bond’s creator, Ian Fleming: James Bond has left his mark across the country.

This book takes you on a tour of Britain, from the Highlands of Scotland to the White Cliffs of Dover, from Wales to East Anglia, to discover iconic film locations, landmarks described in the novels, and places associated with Ian Fleming.

This is the first guide that takes readers around Britain not only to explore the film settings but also the literary locations and places that had a profound impact on Ian Fleming’s writing. The generously illustrated book can be used as guide on Bond tours across the country, as well as a treasure trove of fascinating Bond facts.

Awards/获奖情况: Rating: 5 out of 5 stars This is a title that works at a couple of levels. If you’re a Bond fan, it’s a fascinating guide to UK locations which feature in Bond films. The films are listed and the locations are set out by country and county, with references to locate the places. If your travelling, it’s an ideal companion to take you to places you may not have thought about as a place of interest and I was surprised to discover a number of locations I didn’t know had Bond connections. It’s packed with photos and pictures and there’s a wealth of Bond related information for the film buff. I’ve found it interesting to read without actually travelling and it’s proved relaxing and informed. I’ve noted a few places if interest next time I’m out and about and will certainly take a physical look at the locations.-NetGalley, Anita Wallas

Edward provides information on locations that are literally off the beaten path, including tips on how to find parking and how to find spots using British survey maps. This is no ordinary guidebook, folks - just as Bond is no ordinary character.-I really enjoyed my armchair travels through Britain with “The James Bond Lover’s Guide To Britain. I can’t wait for my next trip to the UK so I can follow in Bond’s footsteps in real life.-NetGalley, Paul Schnebelen

The writing is engaging and broad enough to interest even those who do not initially see Bond as a travel guide. The information is enticing enough to make this change. For the Bond fan, the book is a hive of information that immediately engages, instructs, and inspires adoption of a road trip Biddulph style.-NetGalley, Robin Joyce
