After Hurricane Sandy unearths a family secret locked away in a flooded beach house, their lives are changed forever. The novel spotlights the eclectic and very different lives of each of the daughters leading up to and during that dramatic hurricane. Eight months after the hurricane the mother, Augusta, receives a package that had been churned up by the storm - a box of old letters written by her estranged husband, the love of her life, and the father her children thought had abandoned him and whom they have never known. These letters reveal that he’s been keeping tabs on his family and handling details of his daughters’ lives from afar all along. As it turns out, this strange new truth has the potential to mend the fractured and wayward lives of the three Rockwell sisters.
