Along the way, he meets terrorists, test cricketers, a former president, ancient tribesmen, the victims of great massacres and a few of the perpetrators. There’s no promise of comprehension in this tale, just complexity revealed.

John lives in London where he practices as a barrister. He is a regular contributor to a number of British broadsheets, including the Daily Telegraph, Times and the Guardian travel sections. He has won numerous travel writing prizes and had four book published: At the Tomb of the Inflatable Pig (Hutchinson), Theatre of Fish (Hutchinson), Panther Soup (Hutchinson), and Wild Coast (Profile Books).
