Dutch suspense author Jack Lance (pseudonym for Ron Puyn) has published several mystery thrillers and short (horror) story collections. So far, more than 125,000 copies of his books have been sold in the Netherlands and Belgium alone. As of 2010 his books appear in about twenty-five countries. Several of his stories has been made into a movie.
The rights for his works have to date been sold to publishers in twelve languages: Dutch (uitgeverij Luitingh), English (Severn House), German (Bastei Lübbe), French (Editions L’Archipel), Czech (Albatros Media), Spanish (Grupo Planeta), Polish (Weltbild), Russian (Bertelsmann Moscow), Bulgarian (Delakort), Hebrew (Dekel Publishing), Indonesian (Gramedia) and in Romanian language (RAO Books). This means that Jack’s work can be read in the US, UK, Canada, Latin-America, a major part of Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, Far East and in Australia. More language editions to be announced soon. A long feature movie has been made of Jack’s short novel Nachtogen, in Hollywood, USA.
His novella Night Eyes was made into a feature Hollywood movie, which ran in movie theaters throughout the US and Europe. A film and a theatre production has also been made of Jack’s story Tikken. As an author Jack makes no secret of his fondness for Stephen King and Dean Koontz’s work. Many reviewers call him “the Dutch Stephen King”.
Jack started his career as a journalist. He worked for some of the major magazines in the Netherlands, primarily writing about supernatural and other paranormal phenomena. His best articles are collected in his book Wonderlijk maar waar, published under his real name Ron Puyn.
