Advance Praise for The Complex Chemistry of Loss ‘An engrossing novel about espionage and a very good book – blacker than black. A powerful if also painful reading experience’ David Ignatius ‘A beautiful and emotional tale, a literary tour de force and an incredible debut novel. If Walthew keeps this up one day he’ll sit at the top table of the greats’Matthew Dunn (former MI6 officer and author of the ‘Spycatcher’ novels)

‘Ian Walthew grabs the reader by the collar and pulls him into the dark profession of intelligence and interrogation…Mystery, psychological thriller, story of intelligence professionals, Walthew’s book starkly portrays how much we owe to these men and women, how terrible the charges we place upon them and how thankful one should feel that someone else does this terrible work’

Glenn Carle, career CIA officer and author of The Interrogator, considered by Charles McCarry to be the best non-fiction work about the CIA ever written

‘the most tremendous read. It sucked me in almost immediately and became impossible to put down until I finished... compelling on every level: educational, emotional, and that of suspense.’– Academy Award winning actor, Jeremy Irons
