Pualele Nine-year-old Pualele arrives in New Zealand in 1978 as part of an illegal family adoption. Life is confusing and frightening as police conduct dawn raids searching for Pacific Islanders who have overstayed their visas. When she is finally called back to Samoa as an adult, she must decide who she is and where she belongs as she is confronted by what she reads in Olga’s journal.

Rich Man Road is a story of dislocation, lost love and the complex relationship between mothers and daughters. The women become friends as Olga lies dying, and through her diary, we learn how the two women’s lives are connected. Rich Man Road was released on 31March 2015 and has been on the NZ fiction bestseller list since, debuting at number 2 and twice reaching number 1, finally nudging out our Man Booker Prize winner The Luminaries for top place.

About the Author/作者介绍: Ann Glamuzina 是达尔马提亚后裔,1990年毕业于奥克兰大学,曾经是一名律师,2009年获得了AUT大学创意写作硕士学位。这是她的处女作小说。

Ann Glamuzina is of Dalmatian descent. She is a former lawyer, having graduated from Auckland University in 1990, and more recently gained a Master of Creative Writing degree from AUT University in 2009. This is her first novel.
