Forced to stop flying due to a crash-related injury, MJ then finds the best non-flying military job for someone with her expertise – but she is not eligible for it because she is female. When she returns home, MJ leads the charge against the DOD in lifting the Combat Exclusion Policy. Hegar v. Panetta is victorious, and full integration is due to occur in 2016.
