    Book ID/图书代码: 13566016B93709

English Summary/英文概要: Raised amidst the chaos and financial insecurity of her father’s California horse training business, Brynn Seymour wants little more than to leave the world of competitive riding behind. Brynn would never abandon her love of horses, but she’s tired of the life her father has groomed her for since she was young. As soon as she can, Brynn plans to finish vet school and forge a quieter, more stable future for herself, away from the risk, intensity, and permanent upheaval of show jumping.

But when her father is trampled in a tragic accident, Brynn is forced to rethink all of her plans. As much as she wants to run away from the debt-ridden family business her father has left behind, she can’t bear to let her father’s legacy collapse. As she struggles to save the business—and her family—Brynn is forced to reckon with the possibility that only the competitive riding world she’s tried to turn away from can heal the broken places inside of her. And maybe her dreams are closer to her father’s

Awards/获奖情况:“In her debut novel, Anne Clermont takes us behind the high-stakes world of Grand Prix show jumping―with spectacular results. Not just the horses, which she paints with a beauty and a tenderness all their own, but the riders and trainers and owners, the haves and the wannabes, all come to vivid life. This is a sport in which the jumps get higher and higher with every round, and Anne Clermont takes every one of them with flamboyant and heart-rending ease. A terrific showing.” — Robert Goolrick, #1 New York Times best-selling author of A Reliable Wife, Heading out to Wonderful and The Fall of Princes
