David Ramsden MBE, Head of Conservation, Barn owl Trust: James Duncan’s new book is a photographic feast containing a truly wonderful collection of stunning owl portraits and action shots. Whilst Owls of the World makes no attempt to present all that is known, the calibre of its author and the wise words he delivers place it head and shoulders above many similar books that adorn ’coffee tables’ around the world. This book, above all else, encourages people to care about owls. As Dr Jim Duncan, a scientist, rightly points out "people protect things they care about...science alone will not benefit owls if people do not value them". To this end, Owls of the World is an absolutely brilliant book.
