About the Author/作者介绍: Professor Cathy Creswell completed her clinical psychology training and subsequently her PhD at University College London, and has since worked at the University of Reading, where she is an NIHR Research Professor based in the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences. She is also an Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Joint Director of the University of Reading Anxiety and Depression in Young people (AnDY) clinical research unit. Cathy has particular research and clinical interests in the development and treatment of anxiety disorders in children and young people. She has published over 60 scientific papers in the field of child anxiety, including clinical trials of cognitive behavioural treatments for child anxiety disorders. In addition to academic publications, she is the co-author of Overcoming your Child’s Shyness and Social Anxiety.
Dr Lucy Willetts is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Accredited CBT Therapist. She is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading. Lucy worked for 20 years in CAMHS in Berkshire, most recently as Clinical Lead for a specialist anxiety and depression service within the local NHS. In addition, Lucy was Clinical Director of the Berkshire Child Anxiety Clinic, an innovative and successful collaboration between the University of Reading and the local NHS trust, and was involved in the design and implementation of a number of successful treatment programmes and treatment trials for childhood anxiety disorders. Lucy has also trained and supervised a wide range of professionals both in Berkshire and nationally in relation to CBT techniques and childhood psychological disorders. Lucy has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and young people and has published a number of research papers and several books, including Can I Tell You About Anxiety?. Lucy now works in private practice and at a local independent school delivering psychological interventions.
