About the Author/作者介绍： 知名喜劇演員BEN MILLER在許多電影中有精采的演出，但在英國他更廣為人知的身分是脫口秀主持人。曾在素有諾貝爾搖籃之稱的劍橋大學卡文迪西實驗室(Cavendish Laboratory)攻讀博士學位。因緣際會下遇見同樣熱愛表演的同學Alexander Armstrong，兩人放棄劍橋的學業走向表演之路。目前除了平日的演藝工作外，Ben Miller為泰晤士郵報旗下的科學雜誌Eureka撰寫專欄，曾主持BBC的廣播節目My Great Big Particle Adventure，主要內容介紹粒子物理學的歷史。當初雖然沒有選擇走上研究之路，但他還是持續推廣科學新知。Ben Miller曾提到直到現在他從未忘記科學帶給他的快樂，但願這本書能讓大家了解科學的美好，開啟對於科學的興趣。
Ben Miller is, like you, a mutant ape living through an Ice Age on a ball of molten iron, orbiting a super massive black hole. He is also an actor, comedian and approximately one half of Armstrong & Miller. He’s presented a BBC Horizon documentary on temperature and a Radio 4 series about the history of particle physics, and has a regular science column in The Times. He is slowly coming to terms with the idea that he may never be an astronaut.
