So he goes to Buenos Aires. The book is his search for the singer, as well as a delicious literary trip through the streets - both real and imaginary - of the city. The Tango Singer is compelling and wonderfully moving. Whilst unforgiving of Buenos Aires’ political insanity and ruthlessness - and as tragic and as devastatingly sad as a tango - this fabulous novel is also a love song, a paean to a city of great writers and great music.
