About the Author/作者介绍： 吉儿‧莫菲六岁时就会用订书机把自己的作品装订成册，她为儿童写了许多的绘本故事，1975年发表〈淘气小女巫系列〉，得到广大的回响，成为畅销的儿童作家。
1995年得了乳腺癌，所幸的是，后期恢复的很好，对身体并无大碍，但紧接着姨妈及母亲的相继患上老年痴呆，她整个的生活一塌糊涂，没办法正常画画创作，直至2004年。
她创作的作品很多，其中最为注明的就是《淘气小女巫系列》，一直以来长踞青少年读物畅销排行榜！是在《哈利波特》之前国外最畅销的魔法系列童书！已经被拍成了ITV系列电视剧。
