Fuelled by Arab and Western intervention, the civil war has quickly escalated, resulting in thousands killed and millions close to starvation. She was the 2016 Sir William Luce Fellow at Durham University and is a regular contributor to Oxford Analytica s briefs as well as to Open Democracy. She is the author of numerous papers and books on Yemen, her publications include Why Yemen Matters; A Society in Transition (editor). She lives in Oxford.
