English Summary/英文概要： The morning after a terrible storm, a woman turns up at a remote Cornish village, where she has recently purchased a desolate cottage that has been unlived in for over a decade. She calls herself Cara, but this is a name she has only had for a few days. She is reluctant to integrate with the locals, for fear of them discovering who she is. The newspapers branded her ‘The most hated woman in Britain’, but surely no one could hate her more than she hates herself. Cara was imprisoned for two years for providing a murderer with a false alibi. To her, he was the man she loved, and convinced of his innocence, she decided to lie to protect him. This was a sacrifice that cost her everything. Now she has the chance to rebuild her life and tentatively, she begins to make friends with the neighbours. However, she still cannot shake the fear that someone from her past is watching her.
