Matthew Burgess is an Assistant Professor at Brooklyn College. He is the author of a poetry collection, Slippers for Elsewhere (UpSet Press, 2014), and a children’s book, Enormous Smallness: A Story of E.E. Cummings (Enchanted Lion Books, 2015). He has two children’s books forthcoming: Drawing on Walls: A Story of Keith Haring (ELB, 2018) and The Unbudgeable Curmudgeon (Knopf, 2019). A poet-in-residence in New York City public schools since 2001, he also serves as a contributing editor of Teachers & Writers Magazine.
Catia Chien is a Brazilian-Taiwanese award-winning children’s book illustrator from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is currently working in New York City. She graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 2004. Her first book, The Sea Serpent and Me, written by Dashka Slater (HMH), won a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators. She followed it with A Boy and a Jaguar by Alan Rabinowitz (HMH), an ALA Notable Book and recipient of the Schneider Family Book Award.
