He was born in the Pyrenees . He holds a PhD in Molecular B iology and Biochemistry. He is part of the research team at IRTA , the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology owned by the Government of Catalonia, where he focuses on the study of plant genetics and their evolution, with special attention to the domestication of cultivated plants.
