Esera’s story is rife with heartbreak and, ultimately, hope. His beloved older brother and idol died of AIDS having never told his friends and loved ones that he was gay. Esera himself would find love with a man totally different culturally, a native of Minnesota, with whom he would adopt Samoan twins and begin a new life. As Esera puts it: "I am just your typical gay Samoan ex-nose tackle who would like to break into show business." A deeply moving and inspirational story.

About the Author/作者介绍： Esera Tuaolo attended Oregon State University and was a defensive lineman for nine years in the NFL. He made the league’s all-rookie team with the Green Bay Packers in 1990 and later played for the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Falcons, for whom he played in the 1999 Super Bowl. An accomplished recording artist, he has a lovely voice and has released two albums and appeared on several other CDs. He lives in Minnesota with his partner and their two adopted children.
John Rosengren is an award-winning writer whose work has appeared in more than seventy-five publications ranging from Readers’ Digest to Sports Illustrated. He is the author of Blades of Glory (Sourcebooks, 2003). He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and their two children.
