	         Book ID/图书代码: 03540006B01519
English Summary/英文概要: As a former soldier, Gordon Reeve knows something about killing. So despite the fact that the death of his brother Jim has been ruled a suicide, Gordon can’t shake the feeling that someone is responsible. Traveling alone across an ocean, he arrives in California determined to get answers: Why was the car Jim’s body was found in locked from the outside? Who would want Jim dead? And now why do the local cops seem bent on thwarting Gordon’s efforts to uncover the truth? With all the verve and taut pacing that have made Ian Rankin an internationally renowned suspense writer, Blood Hunt is a gripping story of one man’s dogged pursuit of justice.

Born April 1960, in the Scottish village of Cardenden. Educated locally and, eventually, at Edinburgh University.
A writer from an early age: as a kid, Ian made his own comic books, influenced by everything from The Beano to the Fantastic Four. If he’d had any artistic ability, maybe he’d have continued in this vein. Instead, at age 12, he invented a pop group in his head, and started writing their lyrics. If he’d had any musical ability, maybe he’d have gone on to rock stardom. Instead, the pop lyrics became poems, and by the time Ian reached university, his poetry had already won several prizes.
In 1988 Ian was elected a Hawthornden Fellow, and is also winner of the 1991-2 Chandler-Fulbright Award, one of the world’s most prestigious detective fiction prizes (funded by the estate of Raymond Chandler). The Award brought him to the United States for six months in 1992, where he drove 14,000 miles from Seattle to Nantucket (by way of San Francisco, Las Vegas, New Orleans and New York City) in a 1969 Volkswagen camper van
