About the Author/作者介绍： E. M. Forster是著名的英国作家和批评家还是Bloomsbury 团队中的一员。
Edward Morgan Forster1871年1月1日出生在伦敦，他的父亲是建筑师但是在他很小的时侯就去世了，Forster是由他的妈妈和阿姨养大的。他是在剑桥大学毕业的，在毕业以后他和他妈妈去了意大利和希腊旅行，在他回来以后他就开始了他的创作生涯。
他的第一本小说Where Angels Fear To Tread在1905年问世，他被邀请到剑桥大学做演讲，随后他的又有一些作品问比如The Longest Journey（1907），A Room With A View (1908), The Celestial Omnibus (1914)等。他是在1970年6月去世的。
