About the Author/作者介绍： 派屈克•麦克白，1955年生于爱尔兰的莫纳罕郡，剧作家暨小说家。他从都柏林的圣帕特里克师范学院毕业后，于1980年到伦敦的金石柏日特殊学校教书，早期以童书写作为主，直到1992年出版《屠夫男孩》才正式投入成人小说的创作，并以此作奠定了他在爱尔兰文坛的地位。

Known for his mostly dark and violent novels set in contemporary—often small-town—Ireland, McCabe has been twice shortlisted for the Booker Prize, for The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto. Both have been turned into films.
