About the Author/作者介绍: 特德•休斯,英国诗人。生于约克郡。剑桥大学毕业。他的诗集有《雨中鹰》(1957)、《会见我家里人》(1961)、《乌鸦之歌》(1970)、《诗选集》(1973)等。休斯的诗风格严谨,感情强烈,富于形象。大部分诗歌反映出诗人在第二次世界大战后痛苦的感受。《乌鸦之歌》中的“乌鸦”象征未被世界毁灭而幸存下来的人。2011年刻有诗人生平成就的石碑于当地时间本周二晚上被安置于英国国家圣地——“诗人角”。纪念碑与乔叟、莎士比亚、雪莱、狄更斯等人的墓碑比肩而立。Ted Hughes (1930-1998) was born in Yorkshire. His first book, The Hawk in the Rain, was published in 1957 by Faber & Faber and was followed by many volumes of poetry and prose for adults and children. He received the Whitbread Book of the Year for two consecutive years for his last published collections of poetry, Tales from Ovid (1997) and Birthday Letters (1998). He was Poet Laureate from 1984, and in 1998 he was appointed to the Order of Merit.
