About the Author/作者介绍： 弗朗西斯•法斐徳（生于1948年11月18日），是一位英国律师兼犯罪小说作家。
在英国德比郡长大的弗朗西斯，在纽卡斯尔大学就读英语系之前，大部分时间都在修道院学院渡过。毕业后，她学修了刑法。最初弗朗西斯在伦敦警察厅工作，后来去了皇家检察署。弗朗西斯自称“在历经了那段长时间的刑法磨砺后，激励了作者动笔将这些故事付诸于页面之上。我本想写一些浪漫小说，但身边的发生的累累罪案让我一直无法适从。”法斐徳的犯罪小说还赢得了无数奖项，其中包括她在2008年发表的《石中血》所夺得的犯罪小说作家协会的邓肯•罗利匕首奖，以及她的另外一部《沉睡》也夺得的银匕首奖。除此之外，她在2006年发表的《房产之争》也获得了邓肯•罗利匕首奖提名。
