English Summary/英文概要： This is the remarkable true story of George Hogg, a young British journalist, who led a school of Chinese children over the remote mountains of north-west China to safety from the advancing Japanese army in the bitter winter of 1944. George Hogg was just 23 when he arrived in Shanghai for a two-day visit in 1937. Fresh out of Oxford University, he was on a round-the-world trip before taking a job in banking, but never returned home. He fell in love with a foreign people and found himself at the age of 28 the headmaster of a school of mostly war orphans. His 700-mile journey across the mountains with his school pupils and 125 tons of equipment was a triumph and of courage and optimism over very long odds against survival. He transformed those young lives, and through his bravery and leadership he saved them. Seven years after his arrival in China George Hogg was dead, but his story of courage and high adventure is still remembered in China today.
Ocean Devil has been made into a film called The Children Of Huang Shi, directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies), starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and is due to be released in cinemas in summer 2008.

本片由中國、德國和澳大利亞聯合投資4000萬美元(約台幣12億9960萬元)拍攝，預計2008/03上映，目標問鼎2008年奧斯卡金像獎。
