【關於Ripley’s Believe it or Not】
受到美國人的喜愛其實是有歷史淵源的，原名Ripley’s Believe it or Not節目最早是發跡於1918年的紐約環球報之漫畫專欄，一切是以雷普利先生的收藏品說起，1930年漫畫專欄從紙上躍上空中，在廣播電台以節目形態播出，接著又於1949年成為電視節目「全球大驚奇」。
為什麼它能從漫畫轉戰廣播節目又成為電視節目呢？主要其內容盡是收錄了各地的奇人異事，時空背景橫跨古往今來，取材內容更囊括了全球各角落的神話傳說真相、當代搜奇、史上重大事件及罕見的自然奇觀等，展示不完的新鮮人與貨；而如今透過一小時的節目製作，觀眾便能領略箇中奧妙！ 在美國的歷代主持人如下：1949年節目最初搬上螢光幕時，是由雷普利本人挑大樑，直到他過世為止；1980年代初期則改由老牌性格演員傑克帕南斯（主演城市鄉巴佬）接下主持棒。新一代主持人狄肯恩（主演"新超人"電視影集） 的隆重登場，更是創下美國有線頻道的高收視。至於本節目的原創主角雷普利（Robert L. From humble origins in turn of the century California, he became one of the best known and most successful Americans of his generation. His own travels were recorded in newspaper columns that were read around the world, and, as shown in this book, provide a fascinating insight into a time when such journeys were highly unusual, magical and mysterious.
