English Summary/英文概要： THE KILLING CIRCLE – When Patrick Rush, journalist, single father and failed novelist, decides to join an amateur writer’s circle, he figures he’ll finally be exposed as a fraud – a writer without a story worth telling. And while the circle’s members show similarly little literary promise, there is one exception. Angela. Her unsettling readings tell of a shadowy childhood tragedy and an unremitting fear of the Sandman, a “terrible man who does terrible things”.
It is the stuff of childhood nightmares, yet Patrick begins to obsess over Angela’s story, while at the same time, a murderer is striking at random in the city, taunting investigators with cryptic poems. And over the weeks that follow, the crimes seem increasingly connected to Patrick.
