IL PELLEGRINO DALLE BRACCIA D’INCHIOSTRO

Book ID/图书代码: 00760007B18736

English Summary/英文概要: The narrator and a friend, setting out from Rome on foot, head for Switzerland, where they are joined by two other friends. Their aim is to reach the old Hospital founded by St Bernard on the pass which still bears his name; it will entail a climb of several days and take them to the gateway to Italy. But what seemed to be a simple on-the-road adventure becomes more of an attempt to escape from a self-styled pilgrim (a man with a wild past who converted to Catholicism late in life and is now a fanatic covered with religious tattoos) who is determined to join the group. Along the path that leads to the pass the four friends try to get rid of their disturbing companion. A meeting with a troop of scouts complicates the matter: as the altitude rises, so does the tension, until one of the young scouts mysteriously disappears, and the tattoed pilgrim is naturally the prime suspect…
