English Summary/英文概要： When you were a child, did you ever wonder what it would be like to have a different mum? Not happy to leave this to her son’s imagination, Oli’s mother, following yet another argument over watching unsuitable television, packs her case and escorts her incredulous but stubborn ten-year old to the Replacement Mother Agency. Here he is issued with a series of replacement mothers. Things, however, take an altogether more sinister turn when Replacement Mum 44, M44, turns out to be none other than Comrade Gerty, the leader of underground movement The Black Cane Brigade whose mission it is to return child rearing back to the 1950s.

Blissfully ignorant of his new mother’s true identity and thrilled to discover she drives a tank, Oli is made a secret agent and tries to recruit Skipjack, his highly suspicious best friend. Skipjack cannot help feeling he’s met M44 somewhere before. Where, he cannot remember, until it all comes flooding back; a chemistry lesson, which didn’t go at all well.

Ceci Jenkinson is on to a winner with her new series of books. It is such a pleasure to know that our children are reading something that is well written. The story lines are witty and amusing and held the attention of my nine year old. The book is a refreshing change from Horrid Henry and Captain underpants but no less funny. This is a brilliant book because the descriptions are so good that I can picture the characters in my head. About the Author/作者介绍： Ceci Jenkinson is forty-one and lives in a scruffy Welsh farmhouse with her husband, two young sons and two Border Terriers. She teaches English as a foreign language to European work-experience students in Llangollen.
