About the Author/作者介绍： Ernest Borgnine was born Ermes Effron Borgnino on January 24, 1917, in Hamden, Connecticut. His parents, Charles and Anna, emigrated from Capri, Italy; and Ernie was their only child. After graduating New Haven high school at 18, Ernie joined the Navy for 10 years. He enrolled at the Randall School of Drama in Hartford; and his big break came in 1949, when he played a male nurse in Harvey on Broadway. In 1951, he moved to Los Angeles, and went on to make many films: The Whistle at Eaton Falls, From Here to Eternity and Marty, for which he won an Oscar for Best Actor. Some of his other films are: The Catered Affair, Emperor of the North Pole, The Poseidon Adventure, Willard, Dirty Dozen, Flight of the Phoenix, Johnny Guitar, Dad Day At Black Rock, Vera Cruz, The Badlanders, Escape From New York and Violent Saturday; and his TV work included: McHale’s Navy, Airwolf, The Single Guy, among others. His 51 year career included appearances in over 100 feature films, three TV series, and many voiceovers (including The Simpsons and SpongeBob Squarepants).
