Rodney’s grandfather was a member of the old-world seafaring tradition and was captain of a Bristol sailing ship. Growing up in Bristol meant being marked by the sea and grounded in age-old stories of discovery and exploration. Rodney, and avid historian and geogapher, was compelled to recount the intriguing ale of a Bristol merchant whose name was uncannily like that of the fourth continent and whom history ahd voerlooked. Broome lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
