About the Author/作者介绍： Journalist and social historian Tom Quinn is the author of more than 30 books, including Science’s Strangest Inventions, a guide to technological endeavours throughout history, and Tales of the Old Soldiers, and account of people’s experiences in the First World War. Tom also writes occasional obituaries for The London Times, and is the editor of Country Landowner Magazine.
