About the Author/作者介绍： Margaret Hefner is thrilled to offer her more than 15 years of knowledge and experience in jewelry design to FabJob readers. Margaret is a graduate of the BFA program in Jewelry and Metalsmithing at the Rhode Island School of Design.
She began her career doing benchwork for other goldsmiths and silversmiths, as well as design and production for the Ralph Lauren Jewelry Compapny. Following a move to Toronto, Canada she was accepted into a partially subsidized studio residency.
There she developed her own production jewelry line, which she sold to boutiques and galleries. She supported her craft by working as a part-time assistant designer at Clio/Oz Accessories designing for the Jones New York label, while also juggling parenting her wonderful daughter, Charlotte.
Margaret’s jewelry evolved into a line of pewter home accessories and decorative hardware, which she wholesaled at tradeshows and through sales reps in both the U.S. and Canada. Her hardware desings were also licensed to Umbra Inc.
