So begins their perilous flight: through the underworld of the NetherRock, the wastelands of Malagua, the grotto of Cheetola, the Canyon del Muerte, and the Dell of Bocarbolee. As Todd and the children evade the predators that follow them, Lilibit struggles to heal and master her emerging powers. And yet, in the end, it is the power of the bond forget between these unwanted children that will provide the strength that will save them all. And perhaps their entire world.
Lilibit can hear what the stones are whispering. She is meant to be the earth’s new Stone Voice who will ultimately connect the planet with the universe. Her protector, a stone warrior, attempts to take her to the place called Kiva to fulfill her destiny--but they are intercepted by Syxx, an evil entity devoted to finding the source of Lilibit’s power. Lilibit ends up at a group home for unwanted children, damaged and near death. But she recovers and journeys to Kiva with the other children, bestowing upon them the stones that allow them to embrace their own powers, fight Syxx’s minions, and save the earth.

About the Author/作者介绍： Cynthia Tocci was born and raised in Massachusetts, graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Hotel Administration. After a stretch in dinner theater and independent film, where she acted and produced numerous semi-professional dramas and improvs, Tocci moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in scriptwriting. Her subsequent disillusionment in “creating by committee” introduced her to fiction writing and an exploration in Native American mythology, upon which STONE VOICE RISING is based.
The original draft of STONE VOICE RISING (which had the working title of ROAD TO KIVA) won the Editors Choice Award at the San Diego State University Writers Conference in January 2006. Tocci is currently working on the CHRONICLES OF KIVA series.
