About the Author/作者介绍： Melania G. Mazzucco was born in Rome in 1966. She earned a degree in Italian literature from La Sapienza University and a degree in cinema from the Experimental Center for Cinematography. In addition to her four novels, she has written award-winning works for the cinema, theater, and radio. Vita was awarded the 2003 Strega Prize, Italy’s leading literary award.
Melania G. Mazzucco 1966年生於羅馬，在La Sapienza大學時攻讀義大利現代與當代文學史，也曾在「實驗電影中心」讀電影，除了編寫過多部得獎電影劇本、廣播劇及舞台劇等作品外，出版的小說更是讓人激賞。2003年，她的長篇小說Vita一舉獲得史特雷加文學獎（Strega Prize）。
