CARE OF SICK CHILDREN:A BASIC GUIDE

Children are often thought of as ’little adults.’ But children are different. Their anatomy, physiology, and emotional responses are not the same as those of adults. In particular, their responses to illness and injury are quite different. Children get sick quickly. But, with proper care, they get better quickly too. For adults who care for children, this can be very threatening. Carers need to know what to do promptly when a child is sick or injured.
Care of Sick Children: A Basic Guide is written for parents, teachers, childcare workers, and others who are responsible for the care of children. Written in a clear, non-technical style, it provides essential information on the common illnesses and injuries of childhood.
Every adult who has responsibility for the care of children could benefit from having this book on hand. They will find it helpful in providing fundamental advice for carers on a wide range of childhood health problems.
The Ausmed ’Basic Guide’ series of textbooks and audiobooks provides carers from a range of backgrounds with essential, practical, evidence-based, person-centered advice on health-related matters. Written by practicing experts in the field, the books are presented in a non-technical, helpful, explanatory style with numerous practical examples designed to be of assistance to readers.

Chinese Summary/
(VL)
