About the Author/作者介绍： 社會學者Walden Bello於1945年出生菲律賓，是一位政治活動家，並是菲律賓大學和賓漢姆頓大學社會學教授，同時也是「關注南方」組織創會理事。此一組織1995年成立，是一個政策研究機構。2008年，他被國際研究組織提名傑出公眾學者獎，主要是針對世界貿易組織提出策略建言。
Walden Bello不但推動人權議題，關切第三世界工、農的生存權益，並提出世界的發展需要一個關注全球化問題的非營利組織，來監督跨國公司無限制的權力擴張。
