THE CONSPIRACY FILES: EVIDENCE BEHIND THE WORLD’S MOST NOTORIOUS THEORIES

Book ID/图书代码: 04331208B25221

English Summary/英文概要: Atlantis, the Freemasons, the invasion of Iraq, JFK assassination, cattle mutilations, mind control, the Pyramids, Roswell and the Holy Grail. These are but a few of the greatest and most widely discussed and dissected conspiracy theories of all time.
More popular than ever, conspiracy theories are a staple of movies, books, TV, and the Internet — seeping into the global consciousness to an unprecedented degree. More people now believe in more conspiracy theories than at any time in history. Faced with the confusing mass of conflicting and competing conspiracy theories, most of which reference much older, longer-running theories, how can we make sense of them all?
The Conspiracy Files reviews the essentials of the great mysteries, historical secrets and current conspiracies. With reviews of the important and sometimes overlooked facts and figures of the conspiracy world, expert Kenn Thomas, assesses the facts that underlie the hype and talks in person to many who believe that all is not as it seems and that the truth is out there.

About the Author/作者介绍: Kenn Thomas has been a notable presence in the conspiracy underground for almost two decades. He has a graduate degree in English from the University of Missouri at St. Louis, where he also has worked for many years as an archivist. He lives down the street from the gravesite of another native St. Louisan, Beat novelist William S. Burroughs. "It is a perfectly symbolic place for my approach to conspiracy theories," says Thomas, "Burroughs half-perceived and half-created bizarre landscapes that look very much like what many people see when conspiracies grab their imagination."
Thomas has written over a dozen books on various conspiracy topics, including NASA, Nazis and JFK, Maury Island UFO, The Octopus: Secret Government and the Death of Danny Casolaro, Popular Paranoia, Popular Alienation, Cyberculture Counterconspiracy, Parapolitics, and many others. Additionally, Thomas has written dozens of introductions and forewords to the books of many other conspiracy authors, including Jim Keith’s Saucers of the Illuminati, Len Bracken’s Shadow Government and Acharya S’ Christ Conspiracy.
In 1992 Thomas began publishing a regular magazine on conspiracy topics called Steamshovel Press. The magazine’s motto: "All conspiracy. No theory." It has been lauded for uncovering facts and making otherwise unnoticed connections in current affairs, and for presenting a wide array of writing and research from various elements in the conspiracy community, without advocating or endorsing any.
