The title has just been awarded the prestigious GRINZANE JUNIOR 2008 AWARD.
The Premio Grinzane Cavour for adult books has existed for 27 years, while the junior award is only in its fifth edition. The theme this year was "interculture", i.e. the exchanges and intertwinings in our multicultural society. Books by Italian authors and by authors/illustrators from all over the world took part in the selection, and the prize was awarded by two juries: one by adult book specialists, the other by children aged 5 to 11 from 12 Italian elementary schools.--From Sheila Drummond/Lulu 08-11-20Classic children’s books in Australia.

Neil Curtis is a multi-award winning fine artist and illustrator who has had numerous Australian and international exhibitions. In Cat and Fish, CBCA Picture Book of the Year in 2004, and in Cat and Fish Go to See, Neil’s illustrations pay homage to the classic tradition of engraving and will take children’s imaginations to magical places.
Dr. Joan Grant is Senior Lecturer in Asian Studies at Monash University. She was the author/editor of the official bicentennial book for children, The Australopia, and the author of Cat and Fish, which was CBCA picture Book of the Year and listed in the international Youth Library White Raven in 2004.
