DONA NICANORA’S HATSHOP

Book ID/图书代码: 05380008B25571

English Summary/英文概要: Kirstan’s first novel is a deliciously comic, yet poignant love story set in a little South American town called Villa de la Virgen, buried deep in the jungle, surrounded by swamps. Nobody visits, nobody leaves – until the day the mysterious Gringito arrives and sets in motion a series of events that will change for ever the lives of all the townspeople. And the one who has most to gain and most to lose is Dona Nicanora: will she fulfil her dream of opening a hat shop on the main square or does fate have other plans for her? And what of Don Bosco and his dreams of finding love?

Kirstan is a wonderful writer and her first novel is an absolute treat – beautifully written, wryly funny and with a warm-hearted feel-good quality that leaves you smiling when you reach the end.
