Torn between loyalty to his country’s policies and sympathy for the hopes of a thriving democracy, Jack must ultimately decide which side he will betray. It is a decision that will affect not only the future of Iran, but the Middle East, and, eventually, the world.

Twenty-six years later, in 1979, Jack returns to a very different Iran. The country is in the grip of a religious revolution, and the streets of the capital city are filled with daily rantings against “The Great Satan.” Jack’s attempt to save a long lost friend from Islamic “justice” leads him into the heart of the emerging struggle between the west and a new and dangerous ideology.

About the Author/作者介绍： Tom Gabbay is an American living in Europe. He started his career producing films for “Sesame Street,” and later became Director of Children’s Programming for NBC. Three years later, he became the network’s Director of Comedy Programming, supervising sitcoms such as “Cheers,” and “Family Ties.” In 1990, he became Creative Director of the production partnership between NBC and ITV in London. A scriptwriter as well as an author, he has recently adapted his first novel, The Berlin Conspiracy, for the screen. www.tomgabbay.com.
