About the Author/作者介绍： Shashi Deshpande1938年出生。她是印度知名戲劇家與作家Shriranga的次女。寫過9本小說、短篇故事與童書。受英式教育長大，擁有經濟與法律學位。曾與擔任醫生的丈夫到英國生活，異國文化的刺激與回國後的差異開啟了她寫作生涯。她的小說曾在德國、英國 (Virgin and Cape)、法國 (Ph. Picquier)與義大利 (Edizione E/O)等出版。現與丈夫住在印度邦加羅爾（Bangalore）。
