About the Author/作者介绍： James Crosbie was born in Glasgow in 1937. At fifteen he went to work in the Clydeside shipyard and at seventeen he joined the RAF. Ever the adventurer, he spent several years in Ghana and Nigeria before becoming a private pilot. He started a successful furniture importing business in Glasgow but, despite its success, James’ volatile nature and search for adventure led him into a life of crime that culminated in the three biggest bank robberies in Scotland and him becoming the most wanted man in the UK in the mid-70s. He earned big money but he also earned big time – 20 years in prison – before realizing that crime doesn’t pay. James Crosbie is also the author of Peterhead Porridge, a remarkably funny and entertaining account of the many unique characters he met during his time at Peterhead Prison - one of Scotland’s toughest penal institutions. He is a Koestler Prize Outstanding Award winner.
