However, Erian is Aeai ran kae, chosen by the Day God, Gryphus, to stop Kraeae kran ae and save his people.
Erian, believing himself victorious, makes the mistake of turning his back on his defeated enemy. Moments later he is killed by a rejuvenated Arenadd, who reveals that Erian is not Aeai ran kae after all.
Victorious, Arenadd leads the attack on the Eyrie (a griffiner castle) at the centre of Malvern, where he encounters Erian’s sister Flell – who was his lover in his now forgotten life. He attempts to kill her, but in the process Skade, his beloved, dies.

About the Author/作者介绍： Born in in 1986, Katie J Taylor attended Radford College, where she wrote her first novel, The Land of Bad Fantasy (2006, Omnibus Books). She studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at the University of Canberra, and graduated in 2007 before going on to do a Graduate Certificate in Editing in 2008. She had the idea for The Dark Griffin while holidaying in Tasmania, and wrote the first draft in less than two months. K.J.Taylor writes at midnight and likes to wear black.
Katie J Taylor出生于1986年，她在Radford 学院念书时便撰写了首部处女作The Land of Bad Fantasy。作者曾在堪培拉大学攻读传媒学位，并于2007年毕业。2008年，作者开始攻读编辑学研究生硕士学位。
