English Summary/英文概要： A delightful time-travel book. Two kids visit the miniature rooms at the Chicago Art Institute (called the Thorne Rooms) and find a magic tiny key. When the girl holds the key she shrinks to the size of the rooms, so she can enter the rooms. When she holds the boy’s hand, he too can shrink. So they have adventures in the rooms, and meet kids from earlier centuries. But our modern kids know world history, so they know how things turn out (e.g. the French Revolution, Salem Witch trials, etc.) and that adds a certain excitement. The current guard in this part of the museum turns out to be a once-famous photographer whose best family photos were lost in a knapsack years ago. The kids find the knapsack in the closet in one of the Thorne Rooms and eventually return it to the guard. It turns out that the photographer’s daughter, now a doctor, and the boy’s family friend, now a rare book dealer, had held the key at one time or another and also had experienced the magic.
A very fun book.
