About the Author/作者介绍： Martin Booth的成長階段多半在海外度過，豐富的遊歷經驗成為他創作的靈感源頭。Booth的創作題材包含小說、散文、詩、兒童讀物，著作豐富，一生共出版了13本小說、8本人文書籍，包括入圍英國布克獎決選名單的小說The Industry of Souls。
Booth也是知名調查報導寫實作家，專研英國在亞洲的殖民歷史。作品（Opium: A History）被公認為殖民歷史主題的經典之作。2004年Booth病逝於英國。
