About the Author/作者介绍： 卢安·莱斯（生于1955年9月25日），美国畅销作家，曾出版多达25部作品。她笔下多描写自然及海洋景象，题材多取自于爱情和家庭。
出生于美国康奈迪克州的新不列颠岛，卢安是家中长女，父母则是英文老师和打字机销售员。她11岁时，便在哈特福德报上发表了第一首诗，15岁时便在《美国女孩》发表第一部短篇小说。她在康涅狄格学院修艺术史，但却因为父亲病重而辍学。之后便开始写作，期间曾在罗德岛州新港做过女仆，在国家科学院做过研究员，以及马萨诸塞州的伍兹霍尔做过甲板水手和鲸鱼研究员。并于1985年出版了自己的第一部小说Angels All Over Town。
2002年，康涅狄格学院授予莱斯名誉学位，并邀请她将自己的论文捐赠给学院做图书馆特殊收藏。
