About the Author/作者介绍： John Sutherland，倫敦大學現代英語文學榮譽教授、加州理工學院客座教授，曾獲英國女皇冊封勳爵。他出版過多部探討各類文學故事的著作，其中最有名的一本是《CURIOSITIES OF LITERATURE》，這本書在文學評論界幾乎人手一本。Sutherland教授在他的書中常發表包含諸多作家及各類書種領域，尤其專注於維多利亞時代背景及現代文學和通俗小說。他也曾任布克獎評審委員會主席，是英國最著名的文學評論家，許多名家作品可常見其專業評註。
