English Summary/英文概要： The search for happiness is quintessentially human—a concept that has no bearing on any other creature on earth yet figures foremost among our deepest desires. In the realm of hard science, the journey to happiness is still in its infancy; the final destination, uncertain. The Happiness Trip is a lucid and passionate approach to the science of happiness and its conditioning factors: emotions, stress, hormonal flows and aging, as well as the social, economic, cultural and religious aspects associated with the emotion.

About the Author/作者介绍： Eduardo Punset (Barcelona, 1936) is a lawyer, economist and Professor of Science, Technology and Society in various university institutions.
As Minister for European Community Relations he had an important role in the transfer to democracy in Spain and the opening of the country to the outside world. He participated in the construction of the State in autonomous regions as Finance Counsellor of the Generalitat and, as president of the European Parliament’s delegation to Poland, helped to shepherd in economic transformation in former Eastern Bloc countries after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He has worked as an economic correspondent for the BBC and The Economist and acted as the International Monetary Fund’s representative in the Carribean.
He is author, amongst many other works, of La salida de la crisis (“The Way Out of the Crisis”), La España impertinente (“Impertinent Spain”), España: sociedad cerrada, sociedad abierta (“Spain. Closed Society, Open Society”), Adaptarse a la marea (“Adapting to the Tide”), El alma está en el cerebro (“The Soul is in the Brain”), ¿Por qué somos como somos? (“Why Are We Like We Are?”).
And from Destino, Cara a cara con la vida, la mente y el Universo (“Face-to-Face with Life, Mind and the Universe”), El viaje a la felicidad (“The Happiness Trip”) and El viaje al amor (“The Love Trip”), to great publishing success, and is also co-author of El templo de la ciencia (“The Temple of Science”).
