About the Author/作者介绍： 西蒙‧薩巴格‧蒙特非爾是英國最知名的歷史學家、作家、電視節目主持人，作品包含《Catherine the Great and Potemkin》入圍多項傳記類獎項、《Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar》獲得2004英國歷史好書大獎(History Book of the Year prize at the 2004 British Book Awards)、《Young Stalin》榮獲2007科斯達傳記類獎(Biography of the Year in the 2007 Costa Book Awards)和大英圖書獎 (THE BRITISH BOOK AWARDS)歷史著作獎。他的作品被翻譯成35種語言。
身為著名歷史學家的身份，使他在《週日泰晤士報》、《觀察家報》、《The New York Republic》、《紐約時報》撰寫許多關於世界歷史文章。從1991年起便住在俄羅斯，並開始著手俄羅斯歷史的研究，目前與妻子Santa Montefiore和兩個小孩居住在倫敦，在過去十年曾製作出版許多廣受好評的得獎書籍。

Born in 1965 Simon Sebag Montefiore is a biographer, novelist and journalist. He contributes to the Sunday Times, Spectator and New York Republic and New York Times in the USA. He lives in London with his wife, Santa, and two children. His three biographies, PRINCE OF PRINCES: THE LIFE OF POTEMKIN, STALIN: COURT OF THE RED TSAR and YOUNG STALIN were huge successes in hardback and paperback, and have been published all over the world.
