About the Author/作者介绍： 雷•道格拉斯•布萊伯利（Ray Douglas Bradbury，1920年8月22日- 2012年6月6日）是美國科幻、奇幻、恐怖小說作家，代表作品有《火星紀事》（1950）及《華氏451度》（1953）。除小說外，布萊伯利也著有多部散文集、詩集，並從事廣播劇、電視、電影等劇本創作。
1920年生於美國伊利諾州沃奇根市，1934年全家遷居洛杉磯。
1938年自高中畢業後並未選擇升學，而在街旁賣報營生。他繼續利用圖書館自修，並一些同好刊物上刊登科幻小說。
1941年起開始在《怪譚》（Weird Tales）等雜誌上發表科幻、恐怖類型的作品。
1947年出版第一部作品，短篇故事集《黑色嘉年華》（Dark Carnival）。
1950年出版《火星紀事》。
1953年出版《華氏451度》。
1977年獲得世界奇幻協會的終身成就獎。
2012年6月6日在洛杉磯去世，享年91歲。 Ray Bradbury, American novelist, short story writer, essayist, playwright, screenwriter and poet, was born August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from a Los Angeles high school in 1938.Although his formal education ended there, he became a "student of life," selling newspapers on L.A. street corners from 1938 to 1942, spending his nights in the public library and his days at the typewriter.He became a full-time writer in 1943, and contributed numerous short stories to periodicals before publishing a collection of them, Dark Carnival, in 1947.
